Needed and Wanted: Prayers and thoughts

Hey guys! I was wondering if you would please keep me in your thoughts and prayers. You see, at my church, my parents are youth leaders. We have a VERY small youth group. Including me, we only have 3 people. My parents want me to get all my friends into the youth group. They are laying it all on me, if I don't succeed, we are leaving our church to find a new one. I love the church we are in now. I made a deal with God that if I brought friends into the church, with his help, he would let us stay in the church. So far, I dunno if he took me up on the deal yet cuz it doesn't look good. Things with my family aren't going well either. We haven't been getting along lately. I was wondering if you could keep me and my church in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks a lot!

I take it this is the only means of your family's income? And that's why you'll move? If not your parents should reconsider. There are always slow spots in youth ministry... one year you'll have 36 the next year you're down to 2 and one of them is the youth pastor's kid. I know because my dad is the youth pastor at our church and while he can drum up kids to go hiking forget trying to get that same number to come to Bible study. However we are starting to grow.

You're in Jr. High right? That's *probably* 9/10s of the problem with arguing... I don't know what it is... but jr. high is just a horrible time period LOL You want more freedom and your parents are still remembering when you were in diapers... they'll come around... it's a time when you just have to lean on God. (whenever that happens the arguing stops anyway because you all are back in the Spirit)

Not trying to get all "Christian-ese" just know from experience... I felt like it was my fault whenever the youth group got smaller because I was the eldest and we were losing members FAST. In fact I still sort of feel if I had left the group earlier it would have gotten bigger. But because I was out there begging people (at least that's what it seemed like) several kids joined and my best friend got saved! It's those memories that keep my head out of the numbers... just bringing one new member in should be the same as bringing in 1000 GOD brings in whom He feels belongs in what group. Just trust Him.

Yeah my dad works another job(actually right now two, but that's a different story LOL) to keep our finances all working right... thankfully God has pulled us through a tough times... *praying it all works out for you too*
