Salute to all those Serving!

First, Thanks to all reading this currently.

I'm 13 and in the 8th grade. Today though in my Social Studies/Civics class something we discussed made my friend Jenny and I severely upset. We were talking about the war and we both admitted that we would willingly join the military and were going to once we graduated. The reply from most was calling us crazy and saying that "you're going to die if you go and join. Have someone else fight for you." It saddened us honestly that majority of the class thought that. And we do have to realize that there are many in the country who believe that.

Jenny wants to join the Marines, and I (obviously) the Air Force, and truth is, not many are supporting us through this decision. I hate to admit it, my parents and my friends all are trying to call me nuts, and it's sad.

So I want to Salute those serving and defending our country to show that there are those who do support them. Thanks for fighting to keep our nation safe, and we appriciate it. Jenny and I wave our flags high and wear them to school everyday even though we get critisized.

I totally support our miltary!! They are doing a job---a job that protects us!! If it wasn't for the men and women in uniform we would not have the freedom we have!! I think it is very honorable that you want to serve!!! Good Luck and know that you do have support from Americans who know what the miltary really does for us!!

THat sucks! I also would like to join the military one day (after college).

We (my family) know two men who just recently join the Marine Corps and
got out of boot camp this summer. My mom was talking to one of the guys
and told them that I wanted to become a Marine as well. He made me upset
because he told my mom she shouldn't let me join because all women that
are in the Marines either A. they turn into "guys" and are like all tough and
stuff. or B. that they are sissys and they are just there for the guys.

He also made me want to join the Marines even MORE then I already had just
to prove that I can make it through the Marine Corps without turning into a
guy but I wouldn't be a sissy girl either.

I plan to become either a Pilot or a Lawyer in the Marine Corps. And I'm all
for girls in the Military! woo woo.

****I am also still a teenager. I am 14 and a Freshmen in High School.

There is nothing more feminine than a girl who knows her own mind and follows her dreams!
I support the military and give them credit for the freedom that we usually take for granted. I live in a community next to camp pendleton so many of my neighbors are military families. They don't have much in the way of material things, because the pay is pretty lousy for a family, but they are very proud of the job they do.

HooRah!

I understand family/friends not wanting to think of you in the military while this terrible war is going on. That's because they love you!

FYI I think my civics teacher is on this website because the day after i posted this he was all weird and we started debating and bringing it up again. *looks around* better watch what i say in case

I definatley support the military... My dad was in the army, and I have 10000 cousins serving and stuff



I dont think I'm cut out to serve though... I'd probably cry and run away

went down there to check out the college. My sister went there and I wanted to see the science department just for a thrill and to get away from this town a bit...nice del taco there though. lol.
