I was at two concerts of Josh"s back to back on October 8, 2023 at the Mountain State Forest Festival. I posted a review on Joe Nichols web site yesterday. Here's a copy of it.
The show opened with Josh Gracin. He did a great job. I am surprised at how much I enjoyed his show. This is the third time I saw him this summer and I find myself liking him more each time. I saw him for the first time at Country Concert 2005 in Fort Loramie, Ohio (A big four day event that takes place in July each year). July 22, 2023 he was at the West Virginia Interstate Fair & Exposition at Mineral Wells, West Virginia (a fair that takes place each year and features two shows with each artist). The Mountain State Forest Festival at Elkins, West Virginia also had two shows back to back. So I've actually seen him in five shows this summer at three events.
Josh sang two songs I especially liked. Wheels and a Bon Jovi song. He also sang Brass Bed and The Other Little Soldier. During the show he just walks off the stage and disappears. He shows up a little later with a hat on hid in the audience. (Both shows right behind me!)
Josh is a dynamo of energy. He is up and down the stage constantly belting out song after song. He has a great voice - very strong.
He signed autographs after both shows for anyone who wanted them. I got a picture I had taken at a previous show autographed after the 7 o'clock show and after the 9 o'clock show I got in line again and purchased his CD titled Josh Gracin and got it autographed. I was the last one in line and when I asked him to let me take a picture of him by himself he smiled real pretty and I got one of the best pictures. He looks real cute. I also got to have my picture taken with him. (I don't have these posted yet but will try to get to work on them.) (My picture at Joe's meet and greet didn't take. A big disapointment but I have one with him from last year when he was at Country Concert.)
I listened to Josh's CD on the way home. I liked it! (A surprise to me. I bought the CD mostly just to get it autographed not expecting to really like it - but I listened to it several times on the way home. I bought Joe's Revelation CD last year just to get it autographed and ended up liking it so much I bought the Man With A Memory CD, A Traditional Christmas CD, and the Amazing Grace 3 CD. I like the song Revelation. I haven't heard Joe sing it live. I wish he would do it on the Opry TV show or some other TV show. I also like the song The Shade. Both from his Revelation CD. I like The Impossible and Brokenheartsville from the Man With A Memory CD.
Joe put on two shows also. He sang Tequila Makes Her Clothes Fall Off. When I first heard of this song I didn't expect it to be something I would like, but I love it. The video is great also. (I think granny should have on a bra with her panties at the end of it - but that's just me.) This video is so, so cute.
Joe sang a lot of new stuff at the concert. I remember he sang Size Matters. (Another song I wouldn't think I would like but instead found it to be a funny - cute kind of song.) I already preordered the new CD. Now their offering one with a free signature guitar pic on MusicCountry.com. Joe also sang some of his older hits.
He wore the cowboy hat towards the end of the show. He does several songs with it on and looks gorgeous - of course. I got some pictures of him with it on.
I took pictures at both shows. I have started putting some of them on my web site at http://www.geocities.com/country_music_wonderland I got to use what I call - a real camera - and got some beautiful pictures of Joe. (Real camera to me means not digital.) I tried to use my new digital camera during the second show. I have a hard time with them after being used to using one of the best of cameras for the past few years. It fouled up on me during the show and I couldn't figure out if it needed batteries or the SD card was full. Anyway I missed some of the best part of the concert fooling with it. I lost one of my SD cards while trying to change it and was trying to look around in the floor for it. (You would have laughed.) I never found it but thankfully it was an empty one. I changed the batteries also and got it to working again. I got a few good pictures with it but they are a lot slower than real cameras and I seem to end up missing most of the best ones. I am also having trouble and grainy pictures with this camera. I have used software to straighten out this problem on any of them you might find on my web site. Also some of the other pictures on the site have been cropped. (I'm not a good photographer.)
As I said my meet and greet picture with Joe didn't take but I did get two autographs. One at the meet and greet and one after the last show out by his bus right before I left.
I don't usually write reviews but I thought I would try. Sorry I don't remember more.

How did you like the concert? I enjoyed it a lot. It was a great venue for concerts in my opinion. I like places where the rows of seats slant upwards. That way I can see.

I read your review of Josh's concert, nice! Thanks for sharing it with us. I agree with the part where you said Josh has a lot of energy, I have noticed that too at the concerts I have been too, Josh is very energetic.

I had SO much fun, except for people getting mad at me for standing the whole time. Lol, oh well! :P I had a great time!! And I agree, it was a great place for concerts!! It was small and it was just awesome! I loved it. |
