One of my favorite Christmas cookie recipes is for Candy Cane Cookies. I will share the recipe and if you have a favorite, please share it with us!

Candy Cane Cookies

1/2 cup butter, softened
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup powdered sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
3/4 tsp. peppermint extract
2 - 1/2 cups flour, unsifted
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. red food coloring

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

On med. speed, cream margarine, shortening, sugar, and egg. Beat until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and peppermint extracts. Gradually add flour and salt.

Divide dough in half. Mix food coloring into half of the dough.

Take one tsp. of plain dough and one tsp. of red dough and roll each into 5" rope. Place ropes side by side on cookie sheet and twist to form into candy cane shape.

Bake 9 - 10 minutes. Sprinkle with powdered sugar while still warm.
Makes 3 dozen cookies

One of my favorite cookies at Christmas is easy to make... Ritz Cookies.

Yep Ritz as in Ritz crackers Smile

Ingredients:
box of Ritz crackers
your favorite peanut butter
chocolate (melting kind.. chips works too )

Spread peanut butter on cracker and top with another cracker.
After doing how ever many you want to make... sit crackers off to side.
In a double boiler or good melting pot, melt down chocolate to a nice smooth consistent. One by one take the cracker sandwiches and dip in to the chocolate. Cover both top and bottom. Remove from chocolate and place on wax paper to harden and dry. If you want while still wet sprinkle with color sugar or little candies for decoration.
After dry... Enjoy. Smile

Tip: Always make more then you plan because I have learn they disappear really quick.

I'll add a family favorite.

M & M Party Cookies

1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup white sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups M & M Plain Chocolate Candies

Blend shortening and sugars. Beat in vanilla and eggs. Sift remaining dry ingredients together and add to sugar and egg mixture. Mix well. Stir in 1/2 cup of candies - reserve remaining candies for top of cookies. Drop from teaspoon on cookie sheet - decorate with remaining candies. Bake @ 350 degrees for 10 - 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Makes about 6 dozen cookies

* I always just buy a bag of the baking size M & M's and just throw them all into the dough instead of taking the time to decorate the tops! Lazy I guess! Laughing

I'll have to try yours, Robin. It sounds easy and good. Reminds me of Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. Yum!

OOH! All your recipes sound great! I don't have any saved on the computer, but I do have a suggestion. I recently made the cookie recipe on the package for the new Nestle Swirled Morsels - I made the chocolate/peanut butter chips and they were GREAT!!
