Josh Gracin Seeks Out Amateur Female Vocalist Through Radio Contesting
Nashville, Tenn. (Monday, February 28, 2023) - Average Joe’s Entertainment recording artist Josh Gracin went in search of a duet partner for a song slated for his upcoming album, Redemption, due out this summer. In a non-traditional effort, Gracin felt radio contesting would be a fun way to find a compatible female voice for the track. Radio stations throughout the country encouraged listeners to send in their video entries for consideration. Gracin and his team sorted through countless submissions and finally found their winner in fellow Michigan native, Shelagh Brown.
While LIVE on Kalamazoo’s B93 (WBCT), Gracin surprised Brown with the news she had been selected the winner and would be flown to Nashville to join him in the studio on his self-penned, “Only When It Rains.”
“This is one of my favorite songs and I really felt it would be great as a duet,” Josh explains. “Then I thought that I might be able to help bring an undiscovered artist into the spotlight a little by offering the position via radio contesting.”
See the behind-the-scenes of how Gracin and Brown blend their styles and voices into just the right combination for this power-ballad here.
